Teamwork makes the dream work, and we'd be nowhere without our talented, dedicated team of employees.
To give you a glimpse into the day-to-day happenings of our team, and give you a chance to meet the brains behind the operation, we're highlighting a new Beautiful.ai employee each month. Every employee brings their own unique ideas, skills, and perspective to the company and contribute to the overall business in different ways. To show you a behind the scenes of each department, we're interviewing members of the team on all things presentations, remote work, and everything in between.
For this month's interview we caught up with Bill Vesce, Director of Sales. Bill heads up the sales team and offers Beautiful.ai as a solution to companies looking to streamline their workflows and scale their business. Today it's his turn to tell his story. Let's get into it.
Q: How long have you worked at Beautiful.ai?
A: I have been with Beautiful.ai for about 14 months and it's been an amazing journey.
Q: What is your role and what does it entail?
A: I am responsible for heading up our sales team which entails defining, optimizing and coaching a systematic sales process that generates repeatable revenue. In addition to that, managing our sellers, revenue operations and go to market strategy.
Q: How do presentations play a role in your day-to-day responsibilities?
A: Our team sends 15-25 new sales proposals a week and building them quickly via beautiful.ai has been a game changer. We’re able to take an approved template and customize the details in the blink of an eye. We also use presentations for quarterly updates internally as well as board presentations.
Q: What do you love most about working at Beautiful.ai?
A: Our team is brilliant, seasoned and nimble. I regularly feel lucky to be surrounded by incredible people. In addition, we’re servicing an incredible need as a result of powerpoint, google and keynote’s inefficiencies when it comes to authoring, controlling content and collaborating on presentations.
Q: What is your favorite Beautiful.ai feature?
A: It's actually two :) - I have a masters in brand strategy and the ability to control the brand by centralizing a team theme is huge since it is often difficult for a marketing team to control on a presentation by presentation basis. The other would be team slides - the ability for slides to automatically update across all decks it lives in, is something the market has yet to see.
Q: What is something exciting you’re working on right now or something work-related you’re proud of?
A: I’m really proud of our team progress, when I started working here we were in the early days of our team and enterprise product in terms of a refined sales process. After about 10-12 months, we’re getting to a place where our revenue is getting predictable and repeatable.
I'm also really proud of the feedback loops we’ve created between sales, CS and product. We’re continuously surprising and delighting our enterprise customers based on their feedback.
Q: What was your first job?
A: Estee Lauder Companies Corporate
Q: The best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
A: That your customers are giving you all the answers to your products success and you just need to listen and get out of the way of yourself.
Q: How would you describe your job to a class of Kindergarteners?
A: My role is to understand issues with businesses and to fix their problems with my internet tool.
Q: Favorite remote work activities?
A: Listen to Bloomberg radio and Lex Fridman Podcast in between calls.
Q: When you aren’t working, what do you like to do for fun?
A: I live in Colorado so most of free time is spent in the mountains, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, camping and skiing.
Q: What is one thing you cannot live without?
A: Snow (because of skiing).
